Tonight I got to hang out with two of my old friend, Amanda and Susan =) I know it may come as a surprize to those reading this, but I do infact have friends that are girls that I hang with, and they're super cool. I love these girls, they make me so happy. When it was just Amanda and I we turned on Jesus Christ Superstar music and started dancing and singing in her room (Amanda has the most gorgeous voice that puts me to shame but I love to sing with her) Then Susan came over and we all talked and next watched Princess Bride. As much as I love hangin with the guys, its such a special treat to chill with two such cool girls; they always leave me with the feeling of knowing I'm not alone in what I feel-awsome. Its nights like this that make me not want to return to college...or atleast, have the ability of transporting my favorite people to Charleston to hang out whenever I want. Too bad its not possilble to attend multiple colleges in one semester...that is to live in 4 places at once.
One comforting thing about it is that even in highschool sometimes I'd go periods where I wouldn't see those two, but every time we did hangout it was as if I had seen them everyday. I love friendships like that. That you can just jump back into and not feel hurt or upset that you haven't heard from them in a while. Makes me mad with myself that there are other friendships that I do get upset in when that happens...I wonder why....
I have to say, that anyone who reads through my ramblings deserves a hug....this all probably doesn't make much sense, matter much to you, or serve any real purpose...my next entry, it will have purpose I promise. It will have so much purpose I might as well just address it to the president....okay maybe not...but I will try for more coherancy, deal? good.

In the art of conversation...I lost my brush
I’ve been getting very frustrated in conversation, or lack of. As I read y’all’s blogs or observe the people around me, I realize how many interesting people I’m surrounded by. So often I find myself wanting to say, “me too” to the thoughts of people I hear or read about, but when it comes to having a conversation with some it seems almost impossible to get anything said. I find it confusing and frustrating. I mean, there are others in my life I could talk to until we were both blue in the face and then some. So why so hard with others? I wish it were as simple as saying to some people, I think we’d be pretty good friends and have a lot in common, so what do you say? And then a bam! sounds, colored smoke goes up, and all awkwardness disappears and you were friends. Maybe I’m thinking about this too much and I should just except who becomes my friends as they become so through natural events….but to anyone reading this--me too.

Ahhh Home =)
I've been extrememly lazy since my return home and for various reasons I was begining to forget why I like here-I remembered that I did, just couldn't figure out why. Well last night I got to see why. I got together with my friend Anna and we drove around town, following a map from the newspaper guiding you to the tackiest Christmas decorated houses (sorry about the grammer, but you follow). It sounds so simple, but that's what I like-simple. Just good conversation and some fun little project or adventure to go on. Then on top of a fun night of Christmas light veiwing, I came home and found my oldest brother, Bret. He lives here, so I'm not sure why I said found...but he works alot and when he's not working he's with his girlfriend or his buddies, or sleeping so he can wake up early and go to work. But last night we stayed up and talked-I love our talks. He always makes me feel so good about myself. When I'm at college he lives in my room, but when I come home he sleeps on this awful bed that falls apart that's in the dinning room right now so that I can have my room back. I told him I felt bad about making him sleep there. First he said, "its about time you felt bad! Why do you think I always spend the night off?" But then he said "No, if its for a good cause, I can make a sacrifice. My little sister's a good reason, she'll never know how much I love her" Awwww!!! it made me so happy...He's not the kind of guy to just say those things either, which is why it means so much to me; he's a guy in all sense of the word. He also has the effect of making me want to improve myself. He doesn't say anything like that, but to hear him talk, he's so intelligent and has such a way with words...I hope to be half as smart as him when I grow up. Oh, some small things that made the night nice-I got some Dunkin Donuts coffee (my dad and I are addicted) I sat on a Hershey kiss in my moms car, and you guessed it, had a nice brown smear down the back of my pants haha, ahh I get a kick out of myself sometimes, and then I talked to Erica for near an hour which I haven't gotten to do in a while.... Mmmm, what a nice night. =)
foiled-again!

Please excuse my nerdy nastalgic nuttyness
Opening Thanksgiving Day and running through the weekend before Christmas at The Springer Opera House, the theater here in Columbus, is the holiday show. Its a different show every year, last year it was Annie, this year Camelot. I'm trying to get all the explaining stuff out so I can actually talk, so bear with. Well, tonight, I went to usher and watch Camelot; lots of weirdness. There were people in it that I've been doing shows with since I was knee high, there were people I've never met. There were these little kids running crew (okay so maybe they're sophomores or juniors in highschool-but that's so teeeeeny!) I had to ask someone for the code to go in the stage door (back door)-tear.
But this entry isn't supposed to be about that weirdness we're all probably experiancing right now being home, instead I want to tell you about the Springer. I know you're starting to look away now, "Oh my gosh, she's going to bore us to death about some stupid building." I'll try really hard not to, I promise! Its just, that building is as much a part of me as dancing, singing, my family, etc. If I've been able to relay to y'all one tenth of how much dancing means to me, you can begin to understand my love of the Springer.
Imagine your house-you know how comfortable you are there, how you feel comfortable being yourself, lounging around, stretching the rules a bit. Now, add the smell of fresh paint, saw dust, stored clothes, and 131 years of preceding history, ahhh. Finally, toss in a couple of ghosts. This is the hardest element to grasp. The first reaction to ghosts is fear, and honestly from time to time there's a little bit of that, but then you have to remember its your house, so your fear is eased because you're so perfectly at home. I'm not sure why I'm writting this....I guess I just feel so blessed to have been able to grow up there. We live in a city (Charleston) where so much increadible history took place but I feel like the essence of that history is not always present. In the Springer, history permeates the air; when you stand on that stage you are extremely conscious of the earlier presence of amazing people like Edwin Booth. The more I write, I realize this all means nothing to you, and bless you if you've read this far. I just wish there were some way I could transfer my experiance of being there to you so you'd understand....its the strongest feeling in me right now...it reminds me why I'm doing all this theater stuff in the first place.

The humor of being an adult
I remember being in lower school and listening to the banter amoung the adults (by which i mean anyone in 7th grade and up). Their jokes were so funny...at least I knew they were funny, even if they didn't make sense to me. I wanted so badly to be able to say witty things and as the years of my life have progressed I have managed to say a few clever things-granite they are few and far between...but ya know I'm still young. Well, tonight I decided to take a walk and the walk led me to Starbucks. Once in side I saw a tall, long-curly-headed guy who was really chatting up the costumers. There were two girls in front of me in line. The first girl steped up and he asked her name to put on the cup. She said Brandie and he asked with an "I" "E" or with a "y" and he wrote it down, teased her a little about something and the next girl stepped up. He asked her name, she said Jennie, again he asked how to spell it and teased for a little bit. then it came my turn. He asked my name and I replied "Becca, that's with an I E not a Y" and he started to write that on the cup but then he stopped and just laughed saying noone else gets his jokes. Its probably not very funny to y'all, but I was proud of myself...maybe some day I'll be making real witty phrazes and be all grown up!

Sorry i'm such a slacker.
Okay, so I'm not good at all in this whole blog thing....sorry! For this entry i'm going to give a list of 30 things that make me happy (I did this for a project once). Its also a list that can be found in my Senior Portfolio...which I'm kinda proud of. Its a bit of a read, but if anyone's up for the task, parts are pretty funny, others a little serious, but its all me and you're welcome to borrow it if you'd like. So here goes.
I feel happy when...
1) I'm a church, the theater, or any place with alot of people being fairly silent and I hear my dad's cough.
2) I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold room in a warm bed and realize I have 3 more hours left to sleep.
3) I feel the pull and soreness of my muscles the day after a good workout.
4) I smell the scent of my dad after he has played golf. Its the smell of a golfcourse and its not sweaty.
5) its hot outside and I open the freezer to find one ice cream bar sitting in the box and its all mine
6) I see dolphins in the ocean while I drink coffee on the porch of my grandparent's condo and hear the ocean waves.
7) I go school supply shopping with my dad the night of the first day of school
8) my oldest brother practices piano while I'm doing homework
9) Michael asks me to do my hip-hop dance for other people
10) in winter I get to put on my jeans the second they come out of the dryer.
11) my friends interrupt what they are doing to kiss the roof of the car when we go through a yellow light because it is one of my quirks.
12) I get home from school and put on my pajama pants and a t-shirt and sit in the warm Lay-Z Boy in the den and tuck my legs up in the chair.
13) I wake up on Saturday (after a nice long sleep) to the sunlight spilling into my room as the birds chirp outside.
14) I crumble cornbread and biscuits because its cold, squishy, and smells like Thanksgiving.
15) I sleep on clean sheets for the first night after I have deep cleaned my room and I have walked to my bed with the lights off and without tripping.
16) I ride in the back seat of a car at night in silence and its raining.
17) I hear Pachabel's Cannon because it is connected to a million memories.
18) I smell paint, saw dust, and stored clothes-the smell of the Springer
19) I finish all my homework at home the night it was assigned
20) I see the color blue...it just soothes me.
21) I complete a crossword by myself without cheating.
22) I dance by myself in an empty room.
23) I drink hot tea with ice cubes in it so its hot and cold at the same time.
24) I have shampoo rinsed out of my hair by a hairdresser.
25) I take off my shoes and socks and walk barefoot.
26) I make a joke and people actually laugh.
27) I put my thumb between my head and the back of my earlobe.
28) I take the first 2 steps after ice skating/stilting/rollerblading.
29) I get my tongue underneath my fingernail (which means I've managed not to bit my nails in a while)
30) I feel the texture of a peeled grape on my tongue
I feel happy when...

A Day In Math
The door begins squeeking and the students silently snap their heads in its direction. Through the small square window pane a dark figure can be seen. He lumbers into the room, his large hands dwarfing the textbook and notebook that they cradle. It is not these hands, however, that cause the fear that his students are feeling; the hands seem gentil despite their size. What then is the source of this mans power? He sets the books down on his desk and unbukles the strap around his waist. The class exhales, relieved that the danger has passed. There is truely something intimidating about a man who wears a fanny pack.
I'm searching for something to write about, but everytime I come up with a topic I dismiss it; they are all too real and all too personal. The truth is though, that i don't write many of these blogs because of that reason. Also, I don't think those who read this really want to hear that side of me; I don't. I will say this for right now though-my biggest fantasy right this second is to be curled up in someone's arms on a soft bed, watching a good movie and falling asleep. That sounds perfect. And I'll leave this entry on that. I'll try to make the rest a bit more interesting.

when I walked in my new dorm room tonight there was something different. I saw that someone had been by and left a movie on my bed that i had lent out. It seemed normal enough, I know who had the movie so it was cool. But then I went to pull my computer out of my desk and it was unlocked (I have a cord that locks it to my bed so it can't be stolen). I thought maybe in the dilerium of the morning hours I had unlocked it myself and just couldn't rememeber. But when I turn my computer on, it shows that i have an away message up- and I know for certain that I didn't do that...Don't worry it gets weirder. I dismiss everything that had happened up to that point and begin working on setting up my online checking account (a real pain to set up by the way) and all of a sudden the tv turns itself on! i swear! It was off when i got into the bed, it is on the ground at foot part of my bed and the clicker was on my roommates desk, right on top, with nothing on top of it to be pressing it. Has anyone heard of a ghost living in Buist? I looked under my bed to make sure noone was there, then I looked in my closet-no one was to be found. how weird all these things would happen in one night...makes you wonder!

My Buddy Icon is Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Carribean. Its about time for a change, its been that since this summer so I'll have to look into some other one, but for now, whenever anyone im's me they get to see one of the loves of my life, and i'm sure they appreciate me for it =) ::winks:: Its strange, as a middle school girl who should be at their peek of picking out famous heartthrobs, i never got into that. It wasn't until last year really that I began naming my well known loves. It started with Ben Folds, Husband #1, and moved from there to John Cusack, Johnny Depp, and Connan O'Brian...Can you imagine a combination of all those men? that'd be pretty crazy man, i'm not sure i'd like the result. Each has won my heart for different reasons and I like that they each have their own little personallities and good attributes. I just noticed how old these guys are though...should I be worried about that? haha Oh well, I'll just move to Cananda, next door to Emmie and we can have multiple older husbands together and the world can be jealous of us!
I'm having a hard time coming up wiht what to talk about right now...I think i have some things I need to write for myself first before i can think past them....if you give me a topic i'll write about it though...so give me a topic you want to hear me write about and i'll give it a go....and while I wait for a suggestion, I'll think of something i can write here....i just feel bad not having written anything....give me like I don't know...give me some time or give me a topic...your choice...thanks for your patience whoever you is-you rock!

The thing I miss the most right now, is having my own room. My roommate, Shaunna, and I get along really well. I haven't had any problems with her really, at least none that I have cared enough to address, and I know that I have it better than some people in the roommate department. But its not that. I miss just having one room that is all mine. A room that i can go in by myself and do whatever i want. If i want to watch tv I can, if I want to listen to music and read-I can, and if I want to burp or fart or sing to myself-I CAN! Oh I miss those days....I just find its hard to do any good thinking when someone else is in a room with me. Even though my thoughts are in my head i feel like my head is clear and those around me can read what i'm thinking-egh! I think that's been one of the hardest ajustments to college, almost always being with people. I love hanging with my friends whenever I want. But in Columbus when I went home I could get some quality "me" time in. I find myself hoping my roommate is not home when i get back from hanging out so I can just be and not worry about how what I'm doing is affecting someone else. I'm hoping next year I can live in a house with others and in that house have my own little Becca room =) I can see it all ready, sweet man. Until then I will take pleasure in those rare times that i'm at home when my roommate isn't...::enjoys::

Multitasking: you'd think I was about to unload about all the crap i juggle in my life...but you're wrong!! I've been hearing this word a lot lately and i've come to love the sound of it. Mul-ty-tasking (my sad attempt at phonetic spelling) perhaps its the hard t and k sounds that makes me love this word...though, I do love the I sound in the middle of the word...say it, and linger there for a second...multiiiiiiiitasking...hehe. good stuff. I think I also like the connotation. If someone is multitasking they are organized and well lets just admit it-badasses. Your neighborhood multitasker balances the check book, cooks a 5 course meal, repairs a bike, washes the laundry, teaches aerobics, makes a shirt, builds a house, and all of this with a supersmooth I-know-I'm-the-shit look on his face! Well, I'm impressed, and I can only hope that when my days come to an end my friends remember me fondly as "Becca-The Multitasking Queen."
